Syrian PM Describes as "Promising" Iran-Syria Ties
On the eve of his visit to Iran to take part in the Iran-Syria Joint Economic Commission session slated to be held in Tehran soon, Mustafa Mero said he would visit Iran at the head of a high-ranking delegation on an invitation extended to him by the Iranian First Vice-President Mohammadreza Aref, reported IRNA.
The Syrian premier is expected to head a high-ranking economic delegation composed of ministers of health, education, industries and state commerce as well as deputy prime minister for economic affairs to Tehran on Tuesday.
During his four-day official stay in Tehran, the Syrian premier is scheduled to confer with President Mohammad Khatami and First Vice-President Aref within the framework of the commission's session.
Developing avenues for boosting of bilateral ties, implementation of joint economic projects as well as lifting of impediments to the implementation of economic projects are among the projects the Syrian delegation would discuss with the Iranian officials.
